Margie got a new Futon with cover loaded onto the boat and brought the houseboat to be loaded by Off Shore into their yard. The houseboat is located in the South yard next to the road side fence.

Had first weekend work party march 12. Mike feels like he has finally really fixed the steering, leaking problem. Claude Snow worked hard all day to get the staples and carpet off engine boxes. Left carpet to serve as pattern for new carpet. Randy and Darcy brought down a new BBQ but had to take it back home to mount a plate on the bottom so we can still use the pedestal mounting on the back deck. Relaced the awening on front side seat. Bill took gang plank back to Roosevelt for repair. Ray Grant will remodel drawer below oven to accomadate new oven.

this year. ( This should help keep BBQ operational and deck clear of hoses)

Offshore Marina has a work order to do the following:Pressure test pontoons and

send report to Randy Robinson for insurance purposes,trouble shoot and repair

charging system on starboard yamaha 80 hp engine,and adjust engine throttles

so they are matched as to linkage travel and rpm.

Depending on the pontoon evaluation, there may be additional work such as

sanding and repainting in addition to already assigned tasks.

When all the work is finished, it is time to change the combination, the

president will decide what that new number will be

and we will all be advised.

We had a lovely trip to Powell Sept 6-11. There are a few things. Mike went under the boat and greased the steering. It is much more accurate when motoring along and a small adjustment when steering is all that is needed to change directions.... of course she still requires some room to turn. The leak in the steering remains and a small amount of fluid leaks out when in use. Just replace it as needed. The BBQ had to be repaired. We did not understand what needed replaced but came perpared to try to make her work again. A splice turn out to be our only option. Now the regulator is either all the way on or completely off. The wire holds it all together. Notice that the regulator has a nipple to direct the connection to the grill. Please be careful when assembling and disassembling for storage. We hung a new mirror and hope everyone will enjoy it. Everything ran great for us. We were delayed the last day because the power to the sewage pumping station went down while we were there. After waiting an hour for it to work we were told it might be down all day. We went to Bullfrog to pump. When we arrived there was some garbage left on the boat that had really gotten very ripe. We know that these things sometimes happen but want to remind everyone that going through the check out list can help remind us to take care of everything before we leave the boat.

Houseboat problems reported

Colleen has traded weeks with Randy Robinson. She called me and said that a member of Bill Morrell's family had contacted her concerning some things that were a problem while they were on the houseboat. The generator was not running so they took it apart and cleaned it. It still was not running when they left the houseboat.. It has a low oil kill on it so check the oil. This is only a guess. It never hick upped in late July while we were down there. Also reportely there was a problem with the hose to the BBQ so they did not use it. The fridge did not seem to be working although they said that the freezer part did work. Just a gentle reminder it is unable to quickly cool warm things. Remember that the batteries need to be charged to start the engine or you will blow a 30 amp fuse. I do not understand this because I am not mechanically inclinded. Mike says that the alternator may have been damaged when someone tried to jump the engine. That is hard on the new style alternators and severly reduces their life. Just thought you should know. I wanted to log-in about our trip to Powell. Last week of July. We found the houseboat in excellent condition except there is a strong odor in the hall carpet. We tried to use a carpet shampoo that I had with us. It did not help. We plan to take an enzyme cleaner next time we go. The steering as a very small leak. Dry dock fix. Just add more fluid as needed. What is with the DVD player...seems like it was picky about what it could read. Maybe we are just newfangled stuff challanged. The next party said that the holding tank did not seem to have been pumped and yet we pumped it. Someone else wrote in the log that they found the tank unpumped. What is going on down there is there a leak into the tank? That seems impossible. We only took the houseboat to Halls Creek Bay. The entery under Mike Woodland in the log should help with the motor. Mostly be certain that the battery is charged before you try to start the engine.
