I know it has been a full month since we slept under the full moon at Powell but I still want to comment on how lovely our trip was and how very much we appreciate the new motor on the boat. We know it took serious sacrifice to get it on there and are thankful to those who took the time out of their busy lives to do it.
Mike looked again at the steering problem but decided that even though he is pretty sure how to fix it, an on the water attempt to repair it might only result in a disabled steering on the boat. We know it seems already disabled, but he decided things could actually get worse. After scratching his head for a little while he declared it a dry dock fix.
Bartons said that they kept adding steering oil to the system while they had the houseboat out. Perhaps taking some oil with you would be a good idea.
The certains on the boat are breathing their last breath so I took measurements so we can make new ones. Perhaps we would like ones that can block the hot sunlight during the day. It is just a thought. The light and airy ones that Kristine made have been very nice.
Hope this is helpful to other owners. Patty Woodland
