fun with little ones

We have not found great shade but have several tips for the little ones.  Spray bottles for misting is fun for the kids. One year Lynn Snow had a swamp cooler down there and let us use it during our week.  It was kind of big and a little combersome but wow it did help with cabin temperatures! My daughters discovered that they could cool of their young ones by dipping a Lava Lava ( a hemmed yard and ahalf piece of fabric worn for our Hawaiian night around the waist) in the lake, wringing it out and then using it like a blanket.  Sunscreening is done after breakfast and lunch and again in the afternoon.  Take along a blow up wading pool for the younger kids to play in.  We gate both the front door and the door to the hall with stair safety gates to be certain no one gets away and lifejackets are worn for all awake hours.  Some of our family members choose to take tents and move away from the waters edge for night time sleeping.  Probably too much information here but I think our little grandkids really like going so that is how we do it.  Mike and Patty
